Jay Calisher Memorial
On Monday my very dear friend and my Pastor, Jay Calisher passed away. It has been the hardest death I've ever dealt with but I have been comforted more and more each day knowing that he is in a much better place now and is resting in the arms of his Father.
Jay left behind a loving wife and two children. The focus now is to love and support this wonderful family as much as possible. Being from a small church, Jay's wife and children all work to support the family and make ends meet. A Memorial Fund has been set up in Jay's name to help the family cover funeral cost and pay bills.
All CYH shirt sales will now be donated to the Calisher family. So please tell your friends and family to pick up some shirts and help us take care of the family. If you would like to give directly, you can send a check of any amount to:
10920 Summit Ave.
Santee, CA 92071
Make them out to "Calvary Chapel Santee" and please put "Calisher" in the memo line.
Now I would like to tell you a little about Jay if you didn't get the pleasure of meeting him.

First of all he was a great Pastor and a strong man of God. He was able to explain scripture and theology in ways even the biggest spiritual leaders couldn't. He was extremely smart and was always reading, learning and increasing his wisdom of all things.
He loved the youth and understood the things many kids/teenagers go through in this crazy world.

He loved Mexico. There was a special place in his heart for the people and problems in this less fortunate country. And it Mexican food was his favorite.

He loved a good movie or book and would always see the meaning behind the stories.
He also loved to golf and doing puzzles with his family.
But most of all he had the pure love of God in his heart. He wouldn't think twice to drop everything if there was a person in need.
Jay was also a big supporter of CYH. He provided me with the workshop behind the church to do all the printing. He would often come by and we'd talk as I printed shirts, which was always a blessing.
Jay will be missed so much by all his friends and family. Thanks to everyone supporting his family through this hard time.

what a wonderful picture of Jay as he loved to minister in mexico. Yes he will be missed and we will continue to pray for Valerie the family as well as the family in Christ. We will miss you Jay, but we will never forget you and your teaching, love and your humor.
Yes he did. I shared rooms with him on that trip and I'll never forget the great conversations, good times we had and the lives that were changed in Mexico.
What did Mr. Jay die off..
If only to turn back time. To know more of you. To be with you.....at your side. If I make it.....I will see you again @#$
